Rural Housing Preservation Grants

The Rural Housing Service (RHS) announces that it is soliciting applications under its Housing Preservation Grant (HPG) program.

 Formula Funding

Public Housing Capital Fund: to be distributed to public housing agencies for capital repairs and improvements to federally-subsidized public housing. (Funds were also included for competitive grants for priority investments, including those that leverage private-sector financing for renovations and energy conservation retrofits.)

The Vermont Community Loan Fund provides loans to affordable housing developers and community service providers for housing and community facilities that serve Vermonters earning 80% of the median income or less. Projects include single and multifamily housing, mobile home parks, elder care facilities and community art centers.

The Department's Vermont Community Development Program administers the HUD Community Development Block Grant for housing, economic development, public facilities and services, and home access modification projects.
